Postby flexliner » Wed Feb 15, 2017 2:30 pm

years and years ago i recall riding a 601 PM penn to hicksville
that stopped only at westbury
IIRC there was a Port Jeff connection at hicksville.

where did this train go after?
if to ronkonkoma or huntington to lay up then why not run it revenue to the end?
or did it deadhead back to do another run>
(dont see it on the branch schedule any more....)
just wondering

Train 1258. It goes back west as an equipment train.

Train still exists, with the same time and stops. It's really confusingly presented on the timetable, because the Port Jeff connection starts at LIC, runs behind the express, and makes a Mineola stop.

The train goes back west to Hillside as equipment.
