LIRR Police Patches

If you wear the MTA PD patch, you are extremely well compensated and NOT treated like an animal by your supervision.........unlike the "Big Job," which makes a point of devouring it's own as much as possible.

I don't have exact dates but I can tell you the following:


The Long Island RR Police patch was used in the 70-80's, if not also earlier than that time frame. They would have switched to the MTA LIRR Police patch some time before 1989 or 1990. I remember seeing that patch in use back then. That second patch would have been used until sometime during or after 1998 when the police departments (LIRR & Metro North) were merged. Figure 6 months to a year after the merger date.
