It's unfortunate that one round-trip between Ottawa and Montreal was eliminated with the June timetable (trains #56 and 57). Perhaps one of the two new round trips to be introduced in 2017 will be the re-instatement of these cancelled trains. The improvements in infrastructure are welcome, of course. If Ottawa gets high level platforms that will be a total of three stations in the country with convenient access.

It's a shame that Toronto Union did not get high-level platforms during the multi-million dollar renovation. There is, however, a rumour that if the City of Toronto forces VIA to give up their current tracks and confine themselves to the three GO tracks (two of which are new) at the south end, the platforms will be rebuilt to high-level.

As long as GO continues to use Bombardier BiLevel cars with low floors, most of Toronto's platforms will continue to be low as well.
