Hi all,

When you have a moment, please re-familiarize yourselves with the forum guidelines. A new policy was added a couple of weeks ago. Thanks!

Are you specifically referring to this section?

* When responding to another member's message, you may wish to quote part of their message in order to reference a specific point. If their message was particularly long, please do not quote their entire message unless absolutely necessary -- especially if your response is very short.

Apparently some members are still not observing this policy.

Again, I ask that you not quote 30 lines of text just to add a 1-line response. This is entirely unnecessary, especially if you're replying to the message immediately above yours. If you want to reply to a message that is further back in the thread, you only need to quote the relevant parts of the message that you are responding to.

Thank you.

I posted that seven years ago and the problem never went away. Please observe this policy. Do not use the quote button as a substitute for the reply button. Quote only what is necessary. Excessive and unnecessary quoting may be deleted without notice.

For more information, please read and understand the Quoting Etiquette thread: viewtopic.php?f=117&t=161125
