Power problems? Congestion east of 345?
Back in the USRA days, the complaint was that average freight train speed was 10 mph. Dunno why -- almost a century later -- PAR makes that "heritage" part of its practice.

Ineptitude, basically, and maybe a little greed [milking the property] thrown in. I know: I'm being harsh.

POED 614-613 and 42 cars needed a push up the hill from GL to 345 today. FI-1 518 had the honors.

EDPO this morning out of Deerfield had only Fitch/Ayer traffic. About 50 cars with the 307-610-517-603. Heavy with cement/pellets/syrup. Power then went to Grainteville for an LOED.

Wonder if they'll grab some Eimskips at Ayer to ferry back. The dedicated train for intermodal seems to be stalling out... couple of mills have tried the service but I have yet to hear anything of substance come out of those trials. That's what happens when you don't have an IMCS who control the freight signed on...

Saw a lengthy EDPO accelerating east through CPF-AY at 1030 today and then got ahead of it at CPF-WL with 30 seconds to spare. Thought EDPO would tackle the Stony Brook track at 10ish mph but it streaked over Willow Rd at a breath-taking 25mph! Has track work been done recently?

Edited 3/21/17 to add portrait of EDPO zipping through CPF-WL on 3/20/17

#1 track 25 up to Willows East for a while now. Naturally it goes to 10 where PAS ends.

Will CSX require Pan Am to block its westbound interchange as part of EHH's “Precision Scheduled Railroading?” If so where will they do this and how much longer will it take for POSE's to run to Barber?

My guess would be CSX might want Willard, OH and Selkirk NY *miscellaneous" blocks. Given the nature of the traffic seems to me a Willard block would predominate and the change wouldn't be too challenging.

The two CMA/CGM containers from NBSR east on Pan Am's EDPO. Thanks to Eli Almonte for the good catch.
