Nothing like continuing to run 175 car trains down that sandpatch grade when temps range between high 20s daytime and single digits at night. Must be a Hunter Camp alumnus in charge of that division. Amtrak 29's original consist sits in Cumberland in Service Disruption, probably will be pulled back to DC. Amtrak 30 turned in Pittsburgh to become 29, with 42 probably carrying the long distance EB riders today. ... in-hyndman ... /891946336 ... s-hyndman/

With the major derailment in Hyndman PA and numerous other large and not
so large derailments throughout the system, those CSX stockholders must not
be quite so happy as when EHH shifted into high gear. However, barring some
Megantic type disaster, they just consider these incidents as costs of doing

Thankfully only 4 [hazmat] railcars involved without leaks. Close call!
