Nearly a full complement of trains was reviewed in this period with the exceptions caused by programmed trackwork on the route of the Boston section of the Lake Shore Limited and by weather-related problems on the routes of the Crescent and the City of New Orleans.

Services showing improvement in both measured categories included the westbound DET and STL Corridors and both directions of the Cardinal, Lake Shore Limited, and the BUF and KCY Corridors.

While the OT performance was the best in the last 7 periods, several services remain chronically underperforming. These included both directions of the Crescent as well as the westbound Lake Shore and Capitol Limiteds and the westbound BUF Corridor.

Of the 34 trains that were more than 2' late: the Crescent accounted for 10, the Lake Shore Limited for 5, the Capitol Limited for 4, and the Cardinal and City of New Orleans for 2 each.

On the short corridors:
100% days:
STL and BUF had 0 WB and 1 EB;
DET had 12 WB and 2 EB; and
KCY and 20 WB and 12 EB.

0% days:
DET had 0 WB and 1 EB;
STL had 1 WB and 0 EB;
KCY had 1 WB and 5 EB; and
BUF and 21 WB and 2 EB.

Hopefully, the trend of slight overall improvement each period will continue and extend to those lowest performing services.

As an aside, I find the new Amtrak website format to be remarkably user unfriendly which has complicated the review of performance. The old format was not broken, so they went and "fixed" it. Too bad they don't spend the effort on operational improvements.
