4:30 lost for Cardinal east of CVS ? It would seem that if that was known that a back up move thru the yard at CVS onto NS would have been more prudent ? Granted that route would take more scheduled time instead of the BBR RR but 4:30 back up would have saved maybe 3:00 ??

I'm sitting on 2260 and we slowed to a crawl at TF Green Airport stop and have been slow rolling to Providence since with many sudden stops. Immediately after TF Green I did see a police officer of some kind rushing towards the ROW with a flashlight out. We've made it to Cranston so far at this pace.

Looks like we're moving now and cause was "signal problems" FWIW.

SEPTA just tweeted this:

"Due to emergency work by Amtrak, passengers may experience delays of up to 15 minutes on trains to/from Wilmington this weekend."

Any idea what this is and if it has potential to delay Amtrak operations south of Philadelphia as well?

My educated guess is that a section of track broke and is speed limited right now. Over the weekend they'll replace that section of track, but it'll take the track OOS and my guess is that scheduling is a bit tight around there.

Does anybody know what happened to #281 (23rd) westbound Empire Service that lost 4' 30" between Rome & SYR.

Looks like it was combined with #283 for the remainder of the run to NFL.

I'm on 164 to NYC and its track work between Marcus Hook and Highland Avenue SEPTA stops. Speed restrictions are in place and north bound trains are switching tracks.

Another in-person verification (as I was up in NYC overnight -- Weird Al concert was AWESOME):

On the NEC: track work on track 3 between GUNPOW and WOOD, track 4 between MAGNOLIA and WOOD. Single tracking between GUNPOW and MAGNOLIA. Restricted speed order in effect between GUNPOW and WOOD.

This caused train 143 to drop 3 to 1 at WOOD, route around a northbound, then switch to track 2 at MAGNOLIA, back to 3 at GUNPOW. Added about 15 minutes to my travel time to BWI.
