Steam Locomotive Viscose #6 to visit & operate at Lake Shore Railway Museum, North East, PA on Saturday/Sunday, August 17 / 18.

A unique opportunity for adults and children to experience and enjoy a fully operational steam locomotive. Memories to remember for a lifetime are made of stuff like this! Lake Shore Railway Museum is a family-safe educational facility adjacent to two very active high speed railroad mainlines. Sixty to eighty trains speed past the museum daily. Lake Shore Railway Museum is the perfect place to experience steam locomotive Viscose #6!!

"Be an engineer" opportunities available (send e-mail to for details, or "Like" the Lake Shore Railway Museum Facebook page for details). Onsite food available, including 'steam locomotive corn on the cob'. Enjoy this operating museum piece at the Lake Shore Railway Museum. The weekend also includes the Museum's monthly 'Free Public Program' at 8:00pm Saturday. After the Public Program, Steve Barry, editor of Railfan & Railroad has agreed to help orchestrate a night photo session Saturday night. All museum exhibits open and steam operations from 10:00am until 6:00pm both days.

CSX's ex-New York Central Water Level Route mainline is adjacent to the Museum with its current 60+/- trains a day, and Norfolk Southern's parallel line is just feet away from that. Lots of great train action both on the museum site and right next door on the two mainlines. CSX, Norfolk Southern, Buffalo & Pittsburgh, East Erie Commercial/GE, Western New York & Pennsylvania, and Bessemer & Lake Erie are all in Erie County, PA along with Lake Shore Rwy Museum. Erie, PA, only 12 miles away boasts "the Peninsula"--- Presque Isle State Park, Pennsylvania’s only “sea shore.” Its long stretch of beaches make it a popular hotspot to both locals and visitors each summer

On street parking only - limited handicapped parking available for those with appropriate state issued handicapped placards.
