Looks like this may be a great opportunity to see an Altoona-built steam engine under steam once again, as the Railroad Museum of Long Island and the Strasburg Railroad announce plans to restore and operate Engine 39:

So LIRR #39 won't be back on the island until 2062? When is the restoration due to be finished?
MTA project completion date calculator Take the MTA 's estimate for completion and add 8 years to that.
