Color of CNJ stations and MOW buildings?

Discussion of the CNJ (aka the Jersey Central) and predecessors Elizabethtown and Somerville, and Somerville and Easton, for the period 1831 to its inclusion in ConRail in 1976. The historical society site is here: http://www.jcrhs.org/

Color of CNJ stations and MOW buildings?

Looking for colors for CNJ frame structures (stations, outbuildings, speeder sheds, etc) from the mid-1960s... Exhausted a few of my resources, anyone have an answer?

I'd have to say most likely bet would be faded and peeling cream with brown trim, ala Reading Company.

My vague recollection is that they were painted in light gray with dark gray trim in Bayonne. Could have been some green in the pigment.

I recall light green over dark green, amid fading and peeling.

Stone CNJ stations had dark green trim, in most cases.

Tan over brown was Pennsy colors.
Tonight's forecast - dark. Followed by scattered light in the morning.

That sounds right. The gray I recall was probably weathering and grime on the green..

I remember both the Matawan and Red Bank stations being light (faded) green with dark green trim. Bank tower was grey with dark grey trim, This was in the earlly seventies.
