Railworks to add Acela/NEC route.

Postby JackRussell » Sat Jul 09, 2011 4:11 pm

The latest is that it will apparently be out sometime in August. There will essentially be two packages - one will be the NEC from Penn Station to Philadelphia 30th St station, that will include an AEM-7. This package will apparently be released first. And a few weeks after this they will release the Acela package which will piggyback on top of the NEC add-on package.

If you look through the various threads, you see WIP screenshots..

The NEC was released earlier today - the only engine included in this is the AEM-7. Acela is yet to come. There is apparently a P42 with superliners also in the works that is yet to be scheduled for release, but that wouldn't run on the NEC. I have been playing with NEC some today. Nice to have a route that I am somewhat familiar with..

There is a TS2012 in the works, which will be delivered in Sept as a free upgrade. Things like superelevation, improved lighting/shadows, and effects such as rain.

There is talk about a new route, but they aren't releasing much in the way of details. People suspect something in Pennsylvania - perhaps near Altoona (people are guessing Horseshoe curve, but that's only a guess).

Actually, the Genesis and Superliners are scheduled to be released on Monday, August 29.
