unfortunately , this branch is now mothballed, I think the last train ran last year.
The problem is there is no rail line to the regions main port.

I was born in Pahiatua, where the red pocket rocket is based.
I don't recall the points (switch )they show throwing at the beginning of the video . Perhaps they installed it so they could shiunt the railcar depot , without setting off the road crossing alarms.
