Kurt Bell, the longtime head of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, transferred out there some years ago, and since then they've had a great reputation--he's very knowledgeable and helpful to rail historians. Service felt comparable to going to the Hagley; they have finding aids and will pull material more or less on demand, as I recall. There are fees for reproduction of images in publications (less for nonprofit than commercial), so do be aware of that if you're collecting images for an article.

Thank you. This past summer my father passed away and he worked for the PRR for awhile at 30th Street station in the engineering department. and for the dispatchers office for a time. The only thing I know is that he drew some track diagrams and maps and I hope some day to find something he had done. After he passed i discovered that his grandfather worked for the PRR for over 40 years and I don't even know where or what he did. Someday soon I hope to try to spend some time there looking.
Thanks again.
