Exempt Crossing US-322

Postby gprimr1 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 11:34 pm

On my way to Hershey Park today, I noticed there is an exempt crossing on US-322. It has some old looking crossing lights. The track and crossing appear to be well maintained. Is it every used?

Greg that would be the Middletown and Hummelstown RR crossing rte 322 at Hummelstown. From what I understand it is used on only rare occasions.

It's not the one in the video; it's the other one.

That would be a ton of cool pictures on that route. It's interesting though it looks like they have active connections to both the Keystone line and the NS main.

I've been over that crossing scores of times and unfortunately never saw a train. I could not believe how many cars blew right through the flashing signals.

Lewistown PD or PSP could have written about a dozen tickets on that one.
