Winter railroad archaeology in Wellsville NY and the S Tier

Postby JPoland » Sun Feb 04, 2018 5:01 pm

Seems that winter is a great time to find old railroad right of ways and artifacts. So far I have hiked part of the Erie Main and found a switches and a few call boxes. As far as the Buffalo and Susquahanna aka the Wellsville Addison and Galeton and I have not found much except perhaps some lineside industrys. Problem is that most photos were last taken in the 1970s early 1980s and redevelopment is claiming a lot around here. If someone can tell me where the trail starts near wellsville below in the photo that would be a start-https://rivertoprambles.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/p1015346.jpg
