New work on Southern Divsion

Postby amtrakhogger » Tue Sep 20, 2016 1:52 pm

Today, I drove through Whiting and noticed some new work being done on the Southern Division. Contractors have connected the new crossing panel rails to the existing track at the 539 crossing also there seems to be considerable surfacing and tie replacement being done from Whiting down a point about one mile north of the Clayton pit. I also spotted a Railroad Construction ballast regulator the same vicinity of the pit
but it was not working.

Check out the thread CMSL non passenger ops for more info; this is part of a grant from NJDOT I believe.
