Thanks Chris... I’m stuck at work tonight... I will try to get the SA-38 after I get out.

I hear you, I was at a client in Asbury Park when I walked out, turned on the radio and heard "clear on the Southern" at 3:30. I just made it to Maxwell Rd to catch them roll by. Is this the first trip for NS 5640 down the Southern? I know she has worked Shared Assets territory before, and was even on the Santa train in 2015, but I have never seen her down this way.

Thanks to all for the continued updates on the train every week. With my schedule, I haven't been able to photo the train like I had wanted to this year.

And I would not object if the NS 5640 ends up on the Santa train this year! :-D

It's our pleasure, Stephen; you are one of the patriarchs of the Southern, going back 20 years or more. There have been a few new faces around recently (CSX 2505 has been working Browns, but is not cab signal equipped for the trip over NJT), and I don't think I've seen NS 5640 on the Southern before, so CSAO has been keeping it interesting lately.

I saw a survey crew at the Sycamore Ave crossing in Shrewsbury yesterday, maybe Lawes is getting their old siding reinstalled?! Honestly....probably not, but it made me wonder and/or wish...
But....still good car counts for 4 customers on the line these days, and the economy is looking up, so despite a recession or two, and a hurricane or two, the Southern lives on. Can I get an Amen...

The 5640 led SA-31 on the Southern two years ago almost to the day... She was paired up with CSX 4406 for that run

Yeah, I guess it showed up sometime around 2 pm and then waited for the NY bound NJ Transit local to clear South Amboy at around 2:30 before they lined up the Church Running Track switch. I was surprised to see that was a manual switch!

Yep I can't get out today, but I do remember the first time I went out to catch the SA-31 it was lead by a YN2 GP38-2 and NS 5311
