Delays on NS in Indiana

Postby RRCOMM » Mon Sep 29, 2014 3:51 pm

I asked this question on the NS forum. Amtrak Capitol Limited and Lakeshore are taking tremendous delays on NS. For example, between South Bend and Chicago both trains were hit with almost a 5 hour delay today. Its happening routinely. Has NS melted down?

A lot of track work by Elkhart and Porter I'm hearing. It seems like that is a major issue out there right now. NS supposedly said opening a new hump at Bellevue will help them out later this year.

I asked about how traffic is divided, or how it can be rerouted via Nickel Plate, but go no response.

Incredible how things change. Less than two years later trains are getting put back on the ex NYC!
