They installed the r r crossing signs on the road leading into the industrial park. also some new piles of ballast along the line and they removed a tree that fell on the line as well. Glad to see they are back at it and I hope they can get this finished.

Does anybody know when the first NY&A revenue run to serve EPCAL and Metro in Calverton will be? If so what date, day of the week and time of day will it be?

Looking at Bing Birds-Eye, there are (were) 2 sidings, one that goes north to a point next to those 2 black tanks (the siding in your images), and a more or less parallel siding a little to the east next to a low lying mill/warehouse (there is a lot of what looks like wrapped building material around the warehouse, so I'm guess that's the Fence company). Was that second siding also rebuilt.
Also, judging from your photo, bit of a shame they didn't rebuild the grade crossings while they were at it.

From what I can see from my car ( I didnt walk the line yet) it looks like they rebuilt that other siding as well. looks like it is maybe a run around or something as it has no real use for a customer as nothing is there. The only siding they did not put back was that stub ended on next to the entrance road by the guard shack. The 2 crossings at the end of the line we not rebuilt but they probably see less than 10 cars a day as the road does not really go anywhere so I guess they thought it was not worth rebuilding. All the other crossings have been redone nicely.

I am curious to see how metro is going to off load their product. Were it ends by them now is kind of just in a grass lot. They built a new facility but it is not really that close to the spur.

So that large 1 story warehouse next to the Eastern siding shown on the Bing link I posted is no longer there?

Grass might be tough on a forklift, otherwise if it was a paved lot I'd say they would just unload and store the material there and send forklifts to retrieve stacks as needed.

The large warehouse is still there and is used by eastern fence.

Oops, got my clients confused

Metro is the fuel/bio-diesel firm using the tanks, clearly some sort of pump and hose is required if they are bringing in tank-cars to unload (like at the New Hyde Park facility). If they are planning to unload directly into trucks, at least a concrete pad to 'environmentally' capture and retain any spilled oil - but their plan was to reuse the existing storage tanks, so something's got to get built

Eastern Fence - aren't they supposed to get the building materials then? Or was there a different client planned (not the building materials company that got annoyed waiting and then left Calverton?)

Eastern fence is suppost to receive service. I think they I read they are getting plastic pellets in hoppers? I think the company that left was Kamco but I am not sure. It was a building supply company. I think besides eastern and metro there is no other customers. Riverhead building supply is there but they are far off the track and being they dont really take cars at their siding in riverhead I doubt they will take cars ehre.

One of Riverhead BS major drawbacks they claim is not being able to receive 286,000 lb cars for fully loaded flats. This was a while ago. Seems like that large facility would be ideal for rail service in the industrial park. With all that land for development hopefully " Field of Dreams" mentality will occur to draw rail oreinted businesses.

Another upsetting one I drove by today was Global Tissue up the road from US Rail Terminal, just north of LIRR mainline along LI Avenue. There seemed to be an endless amount of truck bays for delivery/ shipping. Rolls of paper is definetely a rail friendly commodity. A mainline LIRR switch would probably be cost effective if they could bypass having to install a grade crossing system to reach the large warehouse.

Both global and the old este lauder building (now rented by global) could be served. (as long as este lauder is not turned into a casino)
