Morristown & Erie to take over Stourbridge Line ?

Postby NJRAIL1256 » Wed Oct 01, 2008 9:55 am

I heard from a reliable source that the M&E will be taking over, as operator, of the Stourbridge Line in
PA.

I cant seem to find this filling on the STB website. Can someone help point me in the right direction. I'd like to know how they can say there going to take over operations on Jan 1st when they havent filled a petition with the STB yet.

Despite what some of the previous paperwork says, a lot of the filings over the last 10 years have been filed late (in some cases even after the fact). I am assuming since the various changes of ownership and operators has been uneventful (and unchallenged) seeing as there has been essentially no freight traffic that nobody at the STB cared.

"Official" Stourbridge Railway thread

Postby SemperFidelis » Sun Jan 25, 2009 6:24 pm

With the M&E assuming operations on the former Erie line from Lackawaxen to Honesdale, it would seem appropriate to have a topic here.

Sat. March 27th the Easter Excursions will be pulled by the M & E 19 (Alco) as the BL2 (SBR 54) is still in the shop @ Morristown, NJ. The BL2 (SBR 54) may be seen on the M & E Easter Excursions if it's repairs are completed in time.
Upright and on the rail any deviation from this is a problem.

I believe M&E 19 is now up in Honesdale or was enroute... Perhaps you mean the 18??

I think he's saying that since 54 is in here, 19 is up there for their trains.

If I had to guess, I'd say 18 and 54 on the WRM's trains.

Anyone interested in the Stourbridge Railroad (which is its proper new name) might want to join our Yahoo group that was started last year at:

The official name is Stourbridge Railroad. If you go on to our Yahoo group website and join our group, you can then go to our photo section and enjoy the photos that we have posted. M&E belongs to our group and gave us a copy of their new logo for the line which we have posted there. It is very colorful and will look great on any engines or rolling stock that it is applied to in the future.
