GVT aquires DL&W boxcar

Postby metman499 » Sun Oct 14, 2007 9:36 pm

According to internet reports a DL&W boxcar still in faded original paint is on its way to Scranton. The car was formerly in the NS yard in Elmira.

On its own wheels? I thought this car would be flatbedded due to its age.

Correct. Car is on a flat car with one wheelset next to it. Still has friction bearing trucks.

Here you go.

I took this one on my last excursion into Scranton on my way back to Rochester from New York City.
