South Norwalk, CT Holiday Getaway
After several years we return to the Classic Signal Tower (Sono Switch Tower Museum); the Maritime Aquarium/Museum of South Norwalk with its GIANT IMAX screen Theater and finally lunch at the BREWHOUSE RESTAURANT of fond memory from previous trips.
We "Sail" from Grand Central Terminal on Metro-North RR to South Norwalk, CT. Here (NOTE!) short walks take us to our three attractions. At the Aquarium/Museum the IMAX theater admission is included. At the SONO TOWER after (NOTE!) several flights of stairs to climb we will be standing in a classic RR switch tower room. Its operations will be fully explained to us. At the BREWHOUSE RESTAURANT we will be greeted upon arrival by servings of Crudite Cheese and Tomato Bruschetta and Sesame Chicken. Choice of entrees is:- Grilled Atlantic Salmon; Penne ala Vodka; or Chicken Francais. Entrees served with Garden Salad, Fresh Breads, Fruit Crisp Dessert and Coffee or Tea. Alcoholic drinks are on your own.
Upon our return to GCT, if you wish, we will visit the Transit Museum Annex in the Terminal for its Holiday Model Train Show, which will form a fitting way to end our day on a "Railroad" note!!
